How to purchase chickens from the Amish:

Stop by the farm and purchase your live birds. They can recommend a butcher nearby the farm. This is what I choose.

It was a very simple process.

I have used two Amish farms. M-61, and  N Bard Road. and a farm next to Fruitful  Apple Orchard on Sedar road.

The chickens were nice size and very flavorful and quite affordable. Estimated under $10 a bird with processing for the meat birds. 

They have Silkies (black meat chicken) and then regular meat bird chickens. 

The amish, I worked with were very acommodating  and make it a simple process.

In addition, to the meat bird chickens, they also had a variety of other products. Vegetables, Flowers, Mums, shanties, slab wood, quilts, and lots more. 

It was worth the drive if you are looking for affordable quality food to feed your family.
